More Reasons to Visit Saint Paul

I took a walk around the hood yesterday and took some photos...(this post is dedicated to Kathi, Amber and Ji Sun, my DC peeps who rock!).
A sushi place:

My grandmother used to operate the elevator in the 1st building (its the biggest one in saint paul - zing!)

Baseball and Cuteness

Heather and I went to watch cousin Parker's baseball game last night, unfortunately we were there on the one night where he played the position usually reserved for people like me... bench! (zing!) Anyway we still had fun and their daugter (little cousin Avery) is SO cute!

Hundreds Dead, Sweden Implicated

After purchasing a plant at IKEA (now in critical condition) I returned home on Monday to find swarms of teeny tiny little black flies in my mini-kitchen. The flies remind me of the teeny tiny black flies that infested my old office after we bought IKEA plants...not that I'm implying anything(COUGH). So to solve this problem I went to Walgreens and dropped $2 on a miracle called Fly Ribbon. The flies seem to think its a slip & slide of caramel heaven. What a bizarre, slow, disgusting yet pretty way to die! I can almost hear tiny screams...

This is the guilty plant (being serenaded with "Welcome to the Jungle").

Grand Marnier in Grand Marais

This weekend I went to my first ever "Girls Weekend," a more-than-annual ritual involving my sister and her lady friends, french braids and film.

At first, Monica didn't think I was funny at all:

On Saturday we went hiking. Here, three PhDs read a trail map:

When the sun went down, Girls Weekend got pretty hilarious and was a lot like Really Smart Girls Gone Wild. Here is Nora exclaming "Heidi Heidi watch this - I'm from the West Siyeeeede!!!"

An enormous giant green moth trying to attack Brielle:

Awwww:

Jill expressing herself through the art of cheerleading:

On Sunday we went to ride the awesome alpine slide at Lutsen. Angie hearts the chair lift:

Melanie feared for her life on the chair lift:

Nora on the alpine slide:

Chris goes incognito:

A cut-throat blondes vs. brunettes game of charades:

Melanie (the brunettes MVP) and Nora:

The phrase "Weekend at Bernies" is very hard to charade. After about ten minutes Brielle was like "uhh your dead and wearing sunglasses?":

Crazy fog:

Best Grand Marais landmark:

Grand Marais' "World's Best Donuts" are made by a faceless woman named Skizzle:

The coffee shop was not just open... it was open open:

Desmond Doing a Line at a Party

Ben's cat Desmond ate some catnip, then twitched, then tried to kill Jana's cat, Sacha.

This One's for Kathi

I went to Walgreens and noticed this - apparently there's this new beverage... and its called Bawls. I suppose when people drink it they might say "Mmmm...bawls" right?

Extremely Good Rock and Roll

Dustin and I went to see Feist last night and she was AMAZING! Here she is rocking out (in purple tights):

Flashback Spider Attack

Last week while bocce-ing with the boys I was attacked by a humongous spider that leaped from a tree onto my neck and then violated me - let's refer to the incident as an "insect-ual assault". Below is a dramatization of the attack from the boys' perspective, and then what I saw looking down.
